Injectable treatment to soften frown & smile lines
This is has become a popular procedure worldwide. The technique generally causes very minimal discomfort and is quick to perform.
The injections work by temporarily blocking the chemical signals to specific muscles (initially for 3 to 4 months). This reduces the muscle movements so the lines and wrinkles soften. During this period where the underlying muscle is relaxed the skin can repair to a certain extent. However, further treatment would be required to maintain this effect normally after 3 to 5 months within the first year and thereafter every 6 months. Effects take 4 to 14 days to be noticeable.
Areas commonly treated:
- Frown lines
- Forehead lines
- Crow's feet
Generally the most common side effect is slight bruising from injections or redness but a detailed list of possible side effects and post-treatment instruction will be discussed.
